Stable Solutions
Offers several effective counseling methods including:
-
Cognitive-Behavioral
Therapy - You will learn about the role
your beliefs, assumptions, and expectations play
in influencing feelings and actions. Alan will help
you explore coping techniques and will assist you
in developing new resources for handling problems.
You will be able to make positive changes based
on insight gained through the sessions. The reward
of therapy is regaining emotional balance and achieving
your goals.
-
Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy
- EAP provides a unique challenge using principles
of horsemanship and the guidance of a caring counselor.
Alan and a horse specialist set up activities that
will allow you to explore emotions, behaviors, and
personal interactions. The EAP exercises are specifically
designed to highlight an individual’s strengths
and to foster better coping skills. The sessions
can be done on an individual, family, or group basis.
-
Child-Centered Therapy
- Alan is trained in many types of experiential
therapies designed to put children at ease in counseling
sessions. He knows children must feel comfortable
before they can trust others with private thoughts
and feelings. He carefully considers the child’s
age, level of maturity, and personality before developing
a treatment plan. Alan’s sense of humor along
with art, sand tray therapy, and play therapy create
a safe setting for children to share and begin to
heal.
During the initial assessment, Alan
will design a treatment plan to meet your individual
needs. These methods can be used separately or in combination
for an effective and rewarding therapeutic experience.
We would like the opportunity to help you find solutions
for the challenges you face. If you have questions or

Equine-Assisted
Psychotherapy
EAP is a powerful and effective
approach designed to:
- Strengthen non-verbal communication
- Provide immediate cause
and effect
- Foster creative thinking
- Instill responsibility
- Build confidence
- Develop teamwork
- Encourage leadership
- Increase assertiveness
- Captivate and hold attention
(Translation- it’s more fun than
sitting around a conference table)
- Break down defense barriers
-
The
experiential nature of Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy
is perfect for use with business groups. EAP takes
people out of their familiar work roles and helps
them objectively identify their strengths and weaknesses.
The exercises are specifically designed to challenge
individuals to find creative ways to reach goals.
Individual strengths are recognized and then utilized
to help the team succeed in their assigned task.
-
EAP
helps foster communication, cooperation, and trust.
A licensed therapist with special certification
in EAP, helps the team process feelings, behaviors,
and patterns observed in the session. Exploring
a team’s choices helps bring insight to existing
group dynamics as well as undiscovered potential
within the team. Issues of accountability, ethical
behavior, honesty, assertiveness, and perseverance
are explored. The therapist helps each person gain
insight into practical applications that can be
made in the workplace and in everyday situations.
When your team succeeds, your business succeeds
too!
What do you get when you combine a horse, a
handler, and a therapist? Sound like a joke?
It’s actually
the ingredients of an innovative therapy called Equine-Assisted
Psychotherapy (EAP).
This therapy pairs the wonderfully unique qualities
of horses with people.
Horses are naturally timid, and remain constantly alert
to danger. Their best defense against threats is to
run away. Despite their power and grace, horses feel
vulnerable when they are around anything unfamiliar.
Horses understand best when they are told exactly what
to do. They learn good habits easily; unfortunately,
they learn bad ones just as easily. Horses stick together,
love each other’s company, and hate to be separated.
If you related to even one of these qualities, you are
beginning to understand why a horse is an effective
partner in therapeutic settings. |
